Still not settled...

Hello guys. Assalamualaikum. We're in Silverdale, Washington now but we are not settled in yet. I have millions of pictures to post in here and I think I'll have to put up the backdated ones first so the stories are in chronological order. We've been out most of the time and I just got the internet connection at the hotel that we're currently staying (it's not free argh!) I am loving the weather, it can get pretty chilly out here but so far no rain yet!

After we've moved out from the apartment, we stayed at Ala Moana Hotel for 6 days starting on the 4th of July hoping that we could catch a huge firework in front of the park but unfortunately we missed it. Daniel had a gig that day until late evening and I took the kids to my friend's house for a BBQ party and there was a  really bad traffic jam on the way back to the hotel. We had to change room due to a clogged toilet at 11.30pm and I think we were only able to sleep after a super long day at 1am. On the next few days, we went back and forth to the Navy admin office to settle some paper work, had to deal with all these unexpected nitty gritty details of moving out from the apartment which involved a lot of money for us and we ended up being so tired that we didn't really go anywhere while staying at the hotel :-(. Plus Daniel still had to work as usual, and the only day we actually went out was the day before we flew to Seattle. Oh well...

View of Magic Island at Ala Moana Park from our hotel room at different times - at dawn, just before sunrise and after sunrise.

View from the balcony in the morning.

Another view from the balcony.

Boiled peanuts for breakfast anyone? Our neighbor, Doreen gave these to us before we left the apartment for good. She's a nice lady from Malaysia, been in Hawaii for more than 25 years. Too bad I only got to know her for a short time.

Then it's fun time at the pool.

  1. Again some lovely pics, especially of the boys of course but also the peanut (!) and of Magic island.
Do you use a special programm to make the mozaik of different pics together?

For us it's amazing that internet often *is* free in hotels in Asia. Often it's not that way in Europe and elsewhere. Though it's changing I guess it will become a service more and more.

  2. Marcele, I used Adobe mostly for everything. I hope the free internet would last as long as it could. But I do notice that the trend is becoming more sales oriented now. Even the airport wifi is not free anymore at certain places.
