Art time

Grammy sent these fun paintable wooden 3-D pictures to the boys, and they had a blast painting them!

What is great about this is the kids can paint right away. It is paint-by-numbers, with numbered paints, a brush, and glue included together. There are three panels for each set, and after they are painted, the wooden pieces are glued together, turning them into a great 3D display. This one is Emir's.

The boys spent their whole afternoon on this. That's a really long time considering their attention span can sometimes be pretty short.

Farhan chose the dinosaurs. He was the first one to finish, although towards the end he got a little bit impatient and started to get a bit sloppy with his work. Emir, on the other hand, took his time working on his.

The final look! I put some finishing touches on the shadowboxes by tracing the lines with a thin black marker, just to make them look neater.

Their work got hung in their very own room!

The boys' room with their art work hanging on the wall. They're very proud of it.

Blast from the past #1

Get the flash player here: http://www.adobe.com/flashplayer

These were taken at a hotel in Honolulu where we stayed at for a couple of days before we flew to Seattle last July. The kids were having a great time at the pool.

Skating and Birthday

Last Saturday Farhan got an invitation to his friend's birthday party at a skating rink in Bremerton, so we decided to go there as a whole family. All of us except Daniel had never skated before so we were excited
about it.

This place is so vintage looking! They rent old fashioned quad skates and also roller blades.

Some other kids at the party.

 Love love love the lights.

The face of a frustrated skater.

Daniel took turns helping the kids around the rink.

 Presents, cake and pizza time.

Close up of Adrian. He is so much bigger and taller than Farhan.

I was waiting for this little girl to turn around so I could take some pictures of her. She was so engrossed watching the other kids skate, I only got to take her picture from the back. I love her curly hair!

Farhan is making a smooth face while waiting for his drink.

Another cute girl. I think she loves cake because she was eating her piece of cake with great enthusiasm.

 Getting ready to go back.

 Enjoying his orange juice.

Randomness

Despite all the frustration at the beginning, the kids really want to go back asap!
